I've been offered an engine for my 87 LS swapped Mustang.
The motor he wants to trade is complete carb to pan and fluid dampener to flexplate. It's being build as we speak with all new parts minus the bowtie 10.2 deck block. It has new Wiseco 4.625 forged 10.5:1 pistons, New Eagle forged 4.50 stroke crank, new solid roller cam and valve train, new aluminum Dart Pro heads, Moroso pan, new fluid dampener, Merlin intake, 1050 Dominator and more. He also said he would also throw in a well built manual valve body th350 trans.
This would be going into my 67 Camaro . To do this I would need to get headers, a new drive shaft, and would probably upgrade my factory drum front brakes. for brakes all I need is 98-02 LS fbody rotors & calipers, I've got the rest of the kit to install.
Anyway he wants to this engine & trans for my complete LS1 Foxbody .
So I'm trying to decide what I want to do....
The Mustang is the nicest (chassis wise) race car I've ever had with all Qa1 Pro coilover suspension, Moser 8.8 rearend, all Aerospace Components race brakes (even dual caliper rears)
fully adjustable rear suspension, tubular subframe & A-arms, and much more. Then a LS1 5.7 with cam and Victor Jr intake, QFT 850 e85 carb, Arp rod bolts & head studs, built manual th350, & Edelbrock RPM nitrous plate system. Inside it's full interior with 6 point cage.
It's nice and I know I'll enjoy it, but it's just a car.
Where the Camaro aka "BRASS MONKEY" is family. And right now it's sitting without a heart. I love when I take the Camaro out people love it and I enjoy the fact it's not "just another car" it tends to be a crowd pleaser & I love it ! Even won People's Choice at last year's Duck Drags. With that engine I'd have me a Heck of A power plant that would cruise on pump gas and it would be The Nicest engine I've Ever Had !
Now it's deciding what I want to do :-/
Keep the Mustang and later on build a flat top 350 for the Camaro. ???
Or
Trade the Mustang for a 605 c.i. bbc and have a power plant back in "Brass Monkey". ???
What do you all think ?
