  • AN Fittings and Sizes

The NRA says, 'Guns don't kill people - people kill people.' That may be true, but I think the gun helps. You're not going to kill many people by standing around shouting 'bang!'.

rule of thumb on "dash sizes " for aeroquip fittings ,,consider every number of a dash size as a sixteenth( 1/16") , check maro's chart and you'll see my meaning , a -4 will be 1/4,,a-6 will be 3/8,a-8 will be 1/2 ,,and so on . You'll find this will take the puzzling out of sizing adaptors from hard line to hose .

That is good information to have . Printed the chart for use later on.

The AN thread is a particular type of fitting used to connect flexible hoses and rigid metal tubing that carry fluid. It is a US military-derived specification stemming from a joint standard agreed upon by the Army and Navy, hence AN. However, some documents say the name is really Air Force/Navy

I cheated and looked it up. LOL I knew it was something to do with military.
