My buddy's working on a 79 Firebird has been doing lots of sand blasting on the subframe and other large pieces lately. Most of this blasting has been done outside and the sand couldn't be recovered. Then he came up with this idea. He set up his old dome tent, threw a sheet of plywood in the floor to work on, and started blasting in it. The fine dust blows out the windows with the wind and the reusable sand stays inside the tent so it can be swept up and reclaimed. Unfortunately he managed to tear a hole in the top and had to throw a sheet of plastic over the top to keep sand out of his shop unit. He set up a shop vac to act as a dust collector but it doesn't work as well as the open windows did. I thought it was pretty slick and just thought I'd pass the idea along...
