a hotrod built in 1967 and found last fall after a long storage - since 1968 a running driving ex drag truck w a 327 Covette engine, a Muncie 3 speed STICK transmission and a 57 chevy Posi RE. full fendered all steel - still in its 1967 coat of grey primer on an original 31 PU rust free body - the sheetmetal is near perfect, everywhere you look the truck is full of mid sixteies drag racing parts and tech. Other than a good cleaning. I have made 3 changes since buying the truck. I added an alternator in place of the orig. generator/generator was lunched - added radials in place of the out of era alum slots I got with it-using the orig build steelies that came w the truck.- added a Caravan middle seat to replace the ratty A tudor seat that were in it. ,EELCO rnd headrest, roll bar, Muncie shifter,Cal Custom chrome shift knob, custom wood dash w old school SW gauges, Superior 500 12.5 silver metal flake strng wheel
I have had it out now and sadly i have had to admit I'll not be able to drive this truck somfortably on long trips (over 20 Mi's) due to my disability's so it is now for sale, ,in hopes of finding something simular in a later model (read that as Bigger inside) coupe. Shame as this thing hauls serious a__ ,lol, you can certainly feel what it was built for and power enough to keep the tires spinning through 3rd gear on cold pavement. I may just turn it back into a street legal nostalgia drag truck if it does not sell. but then I am commited to trailering it over on 40 + mile or longer trips. That really does'nt sit well w me.

No way you can make the seating more comfortable for you? Would be a shame, I know you were excited about this one....
The NRA says, 'Guns don't kill people - people kill people.' That may be true, but I think the gun helps. You're not going to kill many people by standing around shouting 'bang!'.

Is it just the seat or the way the thing rides. Man that truck is pretty sweet, I would hate to see you lose it. BUt I know you have a fetish for some fat fender rides as well.

I never really got into those, but I am starting to really like '46-'48 Ford coupes.

Its the leg room, I can't get a good angle on the pedals and my knees are almost on the steering wheel. The price of being over 6 feet, the only fix for that is tilting the steering shaft up ala T bucket and I've always hated those things .The firewall is already moved forward as far as it can be, I have tried moving the seat up and down ,right now its at the max 5" and still being able to steer, I mean I can drive it ok, but my hips and legs cramp up if I have to hold the clutch too long or operate it to often (I have bad hips and ankles due to loosing that cushion that lines all of our joints can't remember the name, but its a long medical term) ,then the somewhat boucy ride will kill my back over a long trip
It can be fixed and made more comfy but not w/o rebuilding the whole truck, cab forward and ruining the vintage aspect in the bargain .Not something I want to do,me being a purest and all
got the 39 tudor pics , I am going to pass tho it does have all that i want ,It has some definate problems IMO -corvair front end ,the dash + seats SUCK , 307 motors blow and all the fenders are molded in.

I am only 5'10" and about 145 and ALL of the old old stuff is really to small even for me...but what I wouldn't give for a deuce coupe...or a 39 model Ford...or to be the real father of Anna Nicole Smith's new baby...

I don't know why the trend is to put those ugly flat dashes into a 40's fat fender car, even a 55-7 dash would be much nicer ARGH! and why everyone seems to mold the back fenders on.They ALWAYS crack along the seam, been there too many times trying to fix them ,even welded all along the seam the finish cracks ,only one way to do it right -LEAD and no one does that except on customs- custom work belongs on customs ,not hot rods anyway.
. the 41 guy bailed because of the distance. saves me the trouble shooting it down, I always hate that part.

Three things bothered me about that car. First, smoothing out the little vents on the front fender, but not molding the chin piece to the fenders, sencond, I really don't like the "Bitchen" dashes, but mostly I didn't like the way the front wheel sat in the opening.

The odyssey continues was just offered one of these two ,to bad the Austin is that awful color and a delivery -the 55 is yet another senseless camaro clip casulty, but may be doable if not botched or a bondo pig. I like the car.

                          D/gas Truck

                          D/GAS ..

Doesnt the same person have a "old 57 gasser" ? with a fancy paint job .. I thought that panel truck was ok, it is an aluminum body, and can be changed back. at least according to the ad .. but wouldnt it be the same size as your truck.. for interior room .

I listed my bondo pig jr, on racing junk this morning about 8:00 and by 12:30 I had 10 replys to it .. and offers are still comming in .. just no one with cash .. I found a sweet 66 Chevell S S drop top, that I want to buy, and the guy doesnt want any trades .. isnt this the story of life lol..

yah same guy , I had the toad awhile back , an Austin Devon 4dr these thiings are very small inside and out ,I did'nt fit in that either. He has the front seats moved back so there is leg room ,which is something I can not do with the A , His has a stock dash location and floor which is a plus.
Thats the thing about racing junk, its all about trades there. which is fine unless you have to cash out.

Correct D ... I need the cash for the drop top .. I did not ask him what kind of deal he wanted for the 57 , but with no cash on this end, I thought it was senceless . sides I like my pig better than that 57 .

Have you had any luck with your trades ? got any good offers .
