and now lincoln is making a car that will park itself...really i mean really...shouldnt we be trying to make people better drivers than make it easier for them to be bad at it....

Ron, I disagree. She should have here license and car taken away. Even if she had one of those new Lincolns, she should still know what to do if that feature doesn't work, or if she happens to be driving another vehicle.
I'd vote for a politician who could push through a driver's license driving test every 5 years. Still wouldn't catch them all, but it would get some idiots off the streets. Testing should include emergency procedures too - like runaway throttle; loss of normal brakes/use of emergency brake; engine quits while in the fast lane; etc. Fail the test, lose your license, must go to a school to retrain and retest.
Such a law will never be of course, but it is in a small way what pilots must do to maintain their license. It just makes sense.

I agree Olds, but that will never happen, so the cars keep getting smarter and the drivers dummer...won't be long until we will have to get in and push the autopilot button, just like planes now! Lord help us people that actually enjoy driving!!!
